I’m number one!
Ages ago, back when the interweb was newish, maybe in like 2001, if you searched for Rachel Murray anywhere, I'd be up there. Then all these other Rachel Murray's started getting web-savvy. Particularly Rachel M. Murray. She totally deserves to be up high, since her thing is user experience design. She's also much more active with her site than I've been, I think because she's a consultant, whereas I've been doing the 9-5 thing. Now that I've switched my site to be my blog, though, gave it the name "Rachel Murray" instead of "remtheory", I wonder if that's how, miracle of miracles, I've been bumped up from page 3 on the google results to #1! So, it really is about linking to other sites, having them link to you, making smart text choices and being active, active, active. SEO works!
